Oooak is a free digital memorial: a catalogue of monuments (grave markers) and cemeteries with photographs, names, dates of birth and death, and a location on the map. Anyone can browse it, and registered users can add records so that a grave stays findable after the people who remember where it is are gone.

Sign in, open Add New and choose Monument or Cemetery. Upload one or more photos, enter the name and dates, and pick the cemetery. If a photo carries GPS metadata the coordinates are filled in for you; otherwise you can type them in or leave them empty to use the cemetery’s location. The first photo becomes the cover.

New records are reviewed by a moderator before they appear in the public catalogue and on the map. Until then you can see the record, its status, and edit it under My Content. If it has been waiting for more than a few days, write to us with a link to the record and we will look at it.

If you created the record, open it from My Content and press Edit — names, dates, description, coordinates and photos can all be changed. If someone else created it, send us the link to the page and what should be corrected through the form above, and we will update it.

Yes. Send us the link to the page, tell us what should be taken down and, if the record concerns a relative of yours, your relation to the person. Requests from family members are handled first. A record you created yourself can be removed by you from My Content at any time.

Coordinates come from the GPS metadata of the uploaded photos, or are typed in by whoever added the record. A monument without its own coordinates is shown at its cemetery’s location. If a pin is wrong, send us the link to the page and, if you know them, the correct coordinates — any map app will show them for a spot.
